We use the best dj software on the planet - Ots DJ, on a Dell Inspiron 9300 Laptop with an Echo Indigo DJ sound card routed to a Studiomaster CX3 mixer which sends the music to two power amps. The amps power two 1400 watt Pro Madison dual 15s, two 600 watt 18" subwoofers, and two 1000 watt Yamaha S115V speakers. In the unlikely event the Dell should crash, I always have a dual cd/mp3 player fired up and ready to go. We use several dj lights and specialty lights as well as 2 wireless mics. We can set up in about an hour but we prefer to be completely set up before any guests arrive. Generally, we like to arrive 2 hours before starting time - this will give us time for a sound check and any last minute preparations, and a few minutes to relax.
